Josephine "Josie" Korycki of New Hampton, NY a retired onion farmer and lifetime area resident of the area, entered into rest on Sunday, July 24, 2016. She was 90.
The daughter of the late Walter & Anna Bednarz Slowinski, she was born on October 16, 1925 at home in New Hampton, NY.
Josie loved gardening, baking, cooking family dinners and playing many family Pinochle card games. Because family was everything to her, she was very generous with her time and practical advice, leaving us with a wonderful example to follow. She also took much pleasure in listening regularly to the Polish radio program and made sure our traditional Polish holidays were special. She was deeply loved by her children, her family and those who knew her.
Survivors include two sons, John Korycki Jr. & Ronald Korycki and his wife, Suzanne; two daughters, Margaret Kujawski & her husband Robert; and Irene Simpson & her husband Richard and great grandson, Tylor Decker of Westtown, NY and several nieces & nephews.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 52 years, John Korycki Sr., and two sisters, Jean Tauber & Mary Zeszutek.
The family would like to thank the many helpful and very caring staff members at Valley View. Mom often mentioned she found it a comfort to spend her final years as part of the "Valley View Family".
