Mildred (Emilia) Mary Zawaski (Zawatski) died peacefully in her sleep on
August 30, 2017 in her niece's home in West Hartford CT. She was born in
Florida NY (Mount Eve) on January 8, 1921 and was the daughter of John
Zawatski and Victoria Nowak Zawatski . A graduate of St. Joseph School in
Florida New York, she became manager of the Lerner Shop on 34th Street in
New York City for many years until her retirement 22 year ago. She was
predeceased by her brothers Andrew, Leo, John Jr. and Frank and sisters Mary
Faliski, Anna, Stella Regelski, and Sophie (Sally), and many nieces and
nephews. She is bereaved by many loving nieces and nephews, grandnieces and
grandnephews and great-grand nieces and nephews. A calling hour and prayer
service will be at T.S. Purta Funeral Home in Florida, NY from 9-10AM with a Mass
of Christian burial immediately to follow at St. Joseph's Church at 10AM on Monday
September 4th. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Florida, NY.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to St. Joseph Church, 14 Glenmere Avenue, Florida N. Y. or Our Lady of Angels Monastery, EWTN, 3222
County Road 548, Hanceville AL 35077.
