Antoinette A. Scherman of Stony Point, NY entered into rest on Wednesday September 20, 2017 at her home. She was 98. Antoinette worked in civil defense during WWII and after the war worked as a cook until her retirement at Letchworth Village Developmental Center in Theills, NY. She lived a simple life. She loved her family, drawing, collecting memorabilia, gardening, knitting, singing, and was proud of her Polish heritage. · She was a very faithful person who was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Stony Point, NY. The daughter of Anton and Anastasia Niski Brozycki she was born on December 13, 1918 in Pine Island, NY on the family onion farm where she grew up. Antoinette was predeceased by her husband George Scherman in 1980. She is survived by her son Henry Scherman, her sister Loretta Albanese of Sarasota, Fl, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters Stella, Helen, Elizabeth, and brother Frank. A funeral mass will be held 11am on Monday September 25, 2017 at St. Joseph's Church 20 Glenmere Ave. Florida, NY . Memorial visitation will be held 9:30am on Monday September 25, 2017 at T.S. Purta Funeral Home 22 Glenmere Ave. Florida, NY. Burial of her ashes will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
