Loretta E. Lust of New Hampton, NY, formerly of Warwick, NY, entered into rest on Wednesday, December 6, 2017. She was 86. The daughter of the late Andrew (Gantz) Gancarz & Anelia Serafin Gancarz, she was born on June 26, 1931 in New Hampton, NY. She, along with her husband Walter, were co-owners of the Baskin-Robbins stores in the old Orange Plaza and Vails Gate. Prior to that, they operated a small family onion farm. She also was a former Clerical worker for Dun & Bradstreet and the Office of the Orange County District Attorney. She is survived by her son, Gary Lust; daughter, Lori DeStefano & husband Carmen; granddaughter, Amy DeStefano; along with several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Walter "Wally" Lust; brothers, Andrew Gancarz & Frank Gantz; and sisters, Genevieve Brozowski & Helen Rutkowski. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 8th from 3-8PM at T.S. Purta Funeral Home, 690 County Route# 1, Pine Island, NY 10969. A funeral mass will be held 11AM Saturday, December 9th at St. Stanislaus Church, 17 Pulaski Highway, Pine Island, NY 10969. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Pine Island, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Stanislaus Church c/o St. Joseph Church, 14 Glenmere Ave., Florida, NY 10921 or to your local humane society.
