Frank "Corporal" Barczak of Sussex, NJ, a retired laborer for NJ DOT, entered into rest on Thursday, March 15, 2018. He was 81. The son of the late Francisek & Antonina Giza Barczak, he was born July 10, 1936 in Warwick, NY. He was US Army Veteran, a member of P.L.A.V. Post 16, Pine Island and an honorary member of the Hamburg Fire Department, Hamburg, NJ. Survivors include brother, John Barczak (Jane), Middletown, NY; 3 sisters, Genevieve Koutney of TN; Theresa "Dolly" Dombroski of Newburgh and Rose Paffenroth of Vero Beach, FL; along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 2 sisters, Stella Myslinski & Elizabeth "Betty" Johnson; 3 brothers, Vincent, Joseph & Walter Barczak. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 19th from 4-8PM at T.S. Purta Funeral Home, 690 County Route# 1, Pine Island, NY 10969. Legion services will be held 7:30PM at the funeral home. Funeral service will be held 10:30AM Tuesday, March 20th at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Pine Island, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Orange & Sullivan Counties, Inc., 800 Stony Brook Court, Newburgh, NY 12550 or to the P.L.A.V. Post 16, PO Box 16, Pine Island, NY 10969.
