Ann Gurda of Middletown, NY, entered-into rest on Monday, June 9, 2025.  She was 90.

The daughter of the late Stanley Wanczyk and Felicia Figurski Wanczyk, she was born on March 14, 1935 in Goshen, NY.

Ann lived a full and spirited life, marked by resilience, deep devotion to her loved ones, and a profound connection to nature. She found joy in the quiet thrill of hunting and fishing, the challenge of a good crossword puzzle, and the peace of camping under the stars — especially alongside her beloved late husband, with whom she shared countless adventures in the great outdoors.

She leaves behind a legacy of strength, independence, and enduring love that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

She is survived by her son, Gerard Gurda, son, David Gurda; daughter, Carol Smith and husband Scott; daughter, Annette Saverino and husband Anthony; son, Andrew Gurda; son-in-law, Stan Smith; 7 grandchildren, Michelle Gurda, Sarah Anderson and husband Thomas, Taylor Sweatlock and husband Mark, Anthony Saverino, Edward Saverino, Arianna Saverino and Lisandra Gurda; two great grandsons; sister, Frances Warren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband Edward Gurda; daughter, Kathleen Smith; sister, Eleanor Champigny and brother, Stanley Wanczyk.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 13th from 4-7pm at T.S. Purta Funeral Home, 690 County Route# 1, Pine Island, NY 10969.

A funeral mass will be held 11AM Saturday, June 14th at St. Stanislaus Church, Pine Island, NY.

Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Pine Island.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Orange County Land Trust or to the Orange County Arboretum.
