Jose Mendez of Westtown, NY entered into rest on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, surrounded by his loving family at home.  He was 77.

The son of the late Jose Mendez & Brunilda Rodriguez, he was born on June 8, 1948 in Bayamon, Puerto Rico.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Irma Martinez Mendez; son, Jose Gabriel Mendez (Paula Marchington Mendez); daughter Kiesha Mendez; 4 grandsons, Austin, Connor, Logan and Chase Mendez; sister, Marilyn Marquez (Delby Marquez); along with his nieces and nephews, David, Melissa, Dondi, Anton, Jaime, William, Kimberly and Daniel.

He was predeceased by his brother William Soto.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 13th from 2-6PM with a funeral prayer service being held 5:30PM at T.S. Purta Funeral Home, 690 County Route# 1, Pine Island, NY 10969.
