Barbara Geer of Westtown, NY, a retired Supervisor for O.C. Dept. of Social Services, entered into rest peacefully on Friday, November 21, 2025.  She was 70. The daughter of the late Daniel Slesinski and Irene Maly Slesinski, she was born on April 15, 1955 in Goshen, NY.

Barbara grew up on her father’s farm in Goshen. She developed a love for the animals on the farm, especially horses. Barbara was a graduate of Goshen High School, New York. Shortly after high school she started working for Orange County Department of Social Services. She was a highly devoted employee who worked her way to a supervisory position and retired after 38 years.

Barbara enjoyed the company of others, being outside, and spending time with her black lab at wolf lake. Barbara will be remembered for her warm heart and kindness to everyone she met. She was the most genuine, caring person that often put others before herself, especially her children. Spending time with her children and always being there for them was her greatest joy.  She leaves behind a legacy of love and will be deeply missed.  

She is survived by her daughter, Genna Geer; son, Casey Geer and wife Colby; sister, Joanne Slesinski; brother, Daniel Slesinski and wife Darlene; brother, Bruce Slesinski and wife Bonnie; former husband, Kenneth Geer and several niece and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 25th from 3:30-6:30PM at T.S. Purta Funeral Home, 22 Glenmere Avenue, Florida, NY 10921.

A funeral service will be held 10AM Wednesday, November 26th at the funeral home.

Burial will be in the Florida Cemetery, Florida, NY.
