John W. Gott of New Milford, CT, entered into rest on Thursday, August 13, 2026 in New Milford, CT after a short illness. He was 93.

The son of the late Walter Scott Gott and Edna Bowman Gott, he was born on December 17, 1932 in Indianapolis, Indiana.

John was a US Army Korean Veteran. After serving in the Army, he attended the University of Illinois and Orange County Community College. He later became an engineer for the architectural firm Havens and Emerson LTD, Saddle River, NJ. After his retirement, he went on to become a school bus driver for the Brookfield Schools in Connecticut.

He is survived by his wife, Diane Andriski-Gott; daughter, Jeanne D’Elia; daughter-in-law, Terri Gott; 3 grandchildren, Ian Gott, Cassandra Evans and Tiffany Valerio; 2 great-grandsons, Jeff and John Evans; along with several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Marilyn Roloson Gott; sons, Garry and David Gott; four sisters, Phyllis Jean Gott, Carrie Malinowski, Ada Brucker and Rachel Tadlock and brothers, Richard Lee Gott and Robert Gott.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 21st from 10-11AM at T.S. Purta Funeral Home, 22 Glenmere Avenue, Florida, NY 10921.

A funeral service will be held 11AM Friday, August 21st at the funeral home.

Burial will be in the Florida Cemetery, Florida, NY with military honors.
