Josephine A. Giza a long-time resident of New Hampton, NY, entered into rest on January 16, 2018 in Loveland, OH.  She was 85 years old.

 

The daughter of Frank & Rose Mydosh Shuback, she was born on February 19, 1932 in Pine Island, NY.

 

She was an active member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Middletown; Hudson Valley Polonaise Society; and The Mt. Hope Seniors.

 

Survivors include her 2 sons, Jeffrey Giza & wife Joanne of Cincinnati, OH; Dennis F. Giza of New York, NY;           2 grandchildren, Zachary & Abbey Giza of Cincinnati, OH; brother, Frank Shuback Jr. of New Hampton, NY; several nieces and nephews.

           

She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 55 years the Honorable Frank L. Giza; son Gary Giza; and sisters Clara Nowicki, Martha Jarocki, and Theresa Pawliczak.

 

Visitation will be held on Friday January 26, 2018 from 3-7 pm at T.S. Purta Funeral Home, 690 County Route# 1, Pine Island, NY 10969.

 

Funeral Mass will be held 10 A.M. on Saturday January 27, at St. Stanislaus Church, 17 Pulaski Highway, Pine Island, NY 10969.

 

Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Pine Island, NY.

 

In memory of Jo and her son, Gary, memorial contributions may be made to The National Kidney Foundation 30 East 33rd St., New York, NY 10016.
