Obituary of Josephine Lempka

Josephine Lempka a lifelong resident of the area, passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Orange Regional Medical Center, at the age of 95 years old.  She was born in Florida, NY to the late Joseph Siematkowski and Julia Bronczyk Siematkowski.  She was predeceased by ten brothers and one sister.

She was married for over 50 years to Conrad J. Lempka Sr. who predeceased her.  She attended school in Goshen, NY.  As a young girl, she worked on the farm, also worked as a seamstress, and later worked at the Orange County Infirmary for 25 years, where she retired.

She is a member of St. John’s Church, the Living Rosary Society, and prior to her residency at Promenade at Middletown, a member of the Goshen Seniors.

Josephine was a kind, loving, hardworking, caring and gentle person.  She cherished her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends, especially those at the Promenade.  Those who knew her will deeply miss her.  She loved flowers, playing Bingo and was an avid NY Yankee fan.

She is survived by her daughter, Shirley Van Dam, Middletown, NY; son, Robert Lempka, Walnut, CA; grandchildren, Darlene Van Dam, Ridgefield, CT, Sheila (Michael) Dzierzek, Campbell Hall, NY, Andrea (Richard) Sica, Ridgefield, CT, Tammie Lempka, Cocoa Beach, FL and Tracy Lempka, Middletown, NY; great grandchildren, Ryan and Brennan Dzierzek, Cory Schreiner, Astria Juarez, Caitlin Lempka, Kaida and Conrad Miller, Nicholas Burch, Isabella and Alexandra Sica, and great-great grandchildren, Audriana Juarez and Raine Lempka.  She is survived by many nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

She was predeceased by her sons, Conrad Jr. & Richard Lempka.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 25th from 4-8PM at T.S. Purta Funeral Home, 22 Glenmere Avenue, Florida, NY 10921.

Funeral Mass will be held 10AM Monday, February 26th at St. John the Evangelist Church, 71 Murray Ave., Goshen, NY 10924.

Burial will be held in St. John’s Cemetery, Goshen, NY at a later date.
