Robert A. Foster of Garden City, NY a retired Music Educator for Hempstead Public Schools, entered into rest on Thursday, May 3, 2018.  He was 91.

The son of the late Joseph Foster & Sylvia Hoch Foster, he was born November 27, 1926 in Denmark, NY.

He was a proud US Army WWII Veteran and was awarded the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal WWII Victory Medal, Army of Occupation Medal and Good Conduct Medal.

Survivors include his daughter, Susan Hays & husband Scott of Greenfield Center, NY; daughter, Kristen Conners & husband Douglas of Easton, PA; 4 grandchildren, Thomas Hays, James Hays & wife Phoebe, Emily Conners & Matthew Conners; sister, Ida Wolfe; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife, Mildred Sowa Foster; brother Harold Foster & Sister, Eleanor Williamson

Visitation will be held Thursday, May 10th from 10-11:45AM at T.S. Purta Funeral Home, 22 Glenmere Avenue, Florida, NY 10921.

Funeral Mass will be held 12noon Thursday, May 10th at St. Joseph Church, 20 Glenmere Avenue, Florida, NY 10921.

Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Florida, NY.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Crane School of Music, 44 Pierrepont Avenue, Potsdam, NY 13676 or Valley Youth House, 3400 High Point Blvd., Bethlehem, PA 18017.
