Walter E. Naugle of Westtown, NY, formerly of Chester, NY, a retired operating engineer for Local 825, entered into rest on Sunday, January 15, 2017. He was 89.
The son of the late George Naugle & Ida Miller Naugle, he was born April 12, 1927 in Pearl River, NY.
He was a US Army WWII Veteran.
Survivors include his wife Joan E. Naugle; son, Kenneth M. Naugle and husband Nicholas J. Carroll; daughter, Nancy M. Naugle Palmer & husband Chris; stepson, Dave L. Fenner and wife Michelle Fenner; grandchildren, Joseph A. Schuk & wife Sheila; Justin F. Schuk; Nicole L. Palmer; Andrew Fenner; Adam Fenner; great grandchildren, Alex Motter & Vivian Motter Schuk and several other nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Florence Lappetito Naugle; 3 brothers and 1 sister.
Memorial visitation will be held Friday, January 20th from 4-6pm at T.S. Purta Funeral Home, 690 County Route#1, Pine Island, NY 10969.
Memorial service will be held 5PM Friday evening at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 419 E. Main Street, Suite 307B, Middletown, NY 10940 or to the American Legion, George Smith Post 1607, PO Box 226, Unionville, NY 10988.
