Obituary of Rita C. Mudrick

Rita C. Mudrick of Hampton, NH, formerly of Florida, NY, entered into rest on December 27, 2022.  She was 94. 

The daughter of the late George Harter and Elizabeth Gargano Harter, she was born in Florida, NY on July 13, 1928.  Rita was a retired bookkeeper for Island Nameplate.  She also served several appointments as the Florida Village Clerk and was the first woman elected as a Trustee for the Village of Florida.  Before her relocation to New Hampshire she was a member of St. Joseph’s Church and the Living Rosary Society.

She is survived by her children, Kenneth E. Mudrick, Mary E. Cameron and husband David, and William E. Mudrick and wife Carin; grandchildren Megan LaCroix, Leah Price, Caitlyn Martin, Christopher Mudrick, and Maxx Tanguay; great-grandchildren, Lyra and Cora LaCroix, Julian Price, Reece and Arlo Martin; and several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Edward J. Mudrick; sisters Beatrice Sicina and Marcella Bilvin; brother Charles Harter; and granddaughter Anne Mudrick.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 4th from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at T.S. Purta Funeral Home, 22 Glenmere Avenue, Florida, NY, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 pm.  Burial will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Florida, NY immediately following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Florida Public Library, 4 Cohen Circle, Florida, NY 10921.
