Obituary of Arthur Martin Jr.

Arthur Martin Jr. 92, of Goshen, New York (formerly of Maywood, NJ), passed away on February 21, 2023. Arthur was born on February 25, 1930 in New York City to Arthur Martin and Maria Teresa Garcia de Quevedo Martin.

Arthur lost his mother when he was only 23 months old. He was raised by his beloved Titi Shirly and Tio Nick in NYC. He graduated from George Washington High School in January 1948 and from there, joined the US Air Force and served in South Korea. He was honorable discharged in August 1952 and began studying architecture which became his life-long career.

While in school, he met the love of his life and married Rose Maria Boleda on June 11, 1955. They lived on 175th Street in NYC where they had their first child, Cynthia, and later moved to Lodi, NJ where they had their two sons, Wayne and Arthur. Arthur and Rose then moved and raised their children in Maywood NJ where they lived for 56 years, then making their final move to Goshen, NY.

Arthur was predeceased by his wife, Rosa Maria Martin and daughter Cynthia Martin.  He is survived by his son, Wayne and his wife Loraine, and his son Arthur and his wife Debra.  He leaves behind three grandchildren, Kristina Garofalo and her husband David Garofalo, Daniel Martin and Cassandra Martin and two great-grandchildren, Luca and Francesco Garofalo.
