Obituary of Simone Katherine Demberg
Simone Macaluso Demberg
November 22, 1964 – May 5, 2023
Our beloved Simone Demberg of Westtown, New York passed peacefully into eternal rest on May 5, 2023. Simone was taken from us much too soon after a courageously fought battle with cancer. Simone leaves a legacy of love, laughter and fun which will be forever missed. Simone was born in Belleville, New Jersey, graduated from Minisink Valley High School, obtained her Associates Degree from Mount Ida in Massachusetts and her bachelor’s degree from SUNY Purchase in graphic design, and worked as a freelance artist. Simone married Steven Demberg on June 19, 1993 and they have three amazing children. Simone was a substitute art teacher at Minisink Valley High School and served on every parent organization possible to support her children. Simone lived her life to the fullest and was kind and generous to everyone she met.
Simone loved the beach, traveling when she could, all kinds of dancing including kitchen dancing with her kids; and Steven loved to give her a spin, hanging out with friends, shopping, cooking - need we say more. Wednesday pottery club in which she attended to the very end. Painting in her studio while Sarah baked, tending her garden, at least the first part of the summer; but not before having her morning coffee under the gazebo watching the birds with her fluffy pup, Athena by her side.
Dealing with everyone’s computer issues as the family IT tech wizard, accountant, manager, and so on. Nights out as the hit friend group “3 D’s & the P”. Her cooking creations will be missed.
Simone is survived by her husband, Steven, and their children, Austin (Madeline), Sarah, and Madison, her parents, Sandra and George Macaluso, brothers Joe (Glynis), George, Jr. (Tina), and Heath (Nikki) and sisters-in-law Beth (Mike), Cathy (Don), Ruth and Ellie (Jeff), many loved nieces and nephews, and her extended family as well as her very dear friends who were like family, Larry and Deirdre Post and their children.
For Simone’s last dance she requests no black attire, as she wants bright and joyful colors or a fun costume. This is less of a goodbye and more of an I will see yah soon as a celebration of life.
