George Scott Davis of Rock Hill, NY entered into rest on Thursday, September 10, 2015, at home with his family by his side. After 32 years of service in the U.S. Coast Guard, he retired as a Master Chief, having served two tours in Vietnam. He then worked as a security officer at Indian Point until 2005.
The son of the late Philip and Nelle Gregory Davis he was born on October 21, 1939 in Quincy, FL.
George is survived by his wife of 39 years Loretta Davis at home; daughter Teresa Ann Moran; son George Scott Davis II; daughter Mary Prescott Davis; step-son Richard Davis; step-daughter Debbee Davis; step-son Sean Davis; sister Carolyn Bellah; several grandchildren & great-grandchildren; and a multitude of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Graveside services with military honors will be held 2:00 PM on Friday September 18, 2015 at Sullivan County Veterans Cemetery, 256 Sunset Lake Rd. Liberty, NY.
Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital PO Box 1000 Dept. 142 Memphis, TN 38101-9908.
