Obituary of Barbara Burns

Barbara A. Burns of Florida, NY entered into rest on Friday September 18, 2015 in ORMC Hospital Middletown. She was 72. The daughter of the late Jack Kirby and Marie Kirby nee Wallace she was born on December 27, 1942 in NYC. She was a retired Certified Travel Agent for Jimmy Sturr Travel, Florida, NY a member and past President of Business Professional Women's Association (BPW) of Goshen. Barbara's hobbies included gardening, crocheting, and traveling extensively. Barbara was married to the late Robert Burns. She is survived by her daughter Patricia Wierzbicki and husband James; son Michael Burns and wife Suzette; her grandchildren Matthew Wierzbicki, Christopher Burns, and Katlyn Wierzbicki; Sisters Marie Kirby; Theresa Kirby; Patricia Donnelly; & Catherine Kirby; Brother Michael Kirby; several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Margaret Kirby and infant brother John. Visitation will be held from 7-9 pm on Sunday September 20, 2015 at T.S. Purta Funeral Home 22 Glenmere Ave. Florida, NY 10921. Funeral service will be held at 8:30PM on Sunday at the funeral home. Cremation will be held privately following the services.
