Obituary of Theodore "Ted" Fournier
Theodore “Ted” Fournier of Greenville, NY, a retired self-employed architectural stone manufacturer, entered into rest on Monday, May 13, 2024 at home. He was 83.
The son of the late Joseph Fournier and Mary McCready Fournier, he was born on November 2, 1940 in Barre, VT.
Ted loved many things-good music, Nini’s desserts, cold beer, striking up conversations with perfect strangers, camping in Florida, laughing with his family around the kitchen table and tinkering in his shop but most of all, he loved his wife, Nini. They shared 61 years of life together, facing life shoulder to shoulder, always looking in the same direction together.
Ted was a true artist and craftsman whose medium was stone. His “art” is all over the Hudson Valley and NYC and his legacy will live on through the talents of his son and grandson, who continue to make beautiful things out of stone.
He is survived by his wife, Anita Gauthier Fournier; daughter, Christi Crowley and husband Dan; daughter, Tracy Fournier; son, Theodore Fournier Jr. and wife Christine; granddaughter, Megan Crowley and fiancé James Mucci; grandson, Jack Crowley and wife Kelsey; grandson, Alex Fournier and wife Kirstin; and granddaughter, Taylor Fournier.
He was predeceased by his sister, Elaine Gilbert.
As per his wishes, there will be a private cremation with services to be determined.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.
