Obituary of Janet Smykla

Janet E. Smykla of the Town of Deerpark, died on November 10th at Milford Senior Care. She was 89. She was born in Edenville, NY on May 6, 1926 to the late Stella (Dembek) Janiak and William Janiak. She was married to the late Leo V. Smykla for many years. She was a member of St. Mary's Church, Port Jervis and the Living Rosary Society of St. Joseph Church, Florida, NY. She was a retiree of the Orange County Probation Department and a member of the C.S.E.A. Survivors include a beloved nephew, Jeffrey Janiak, who cared for both her and her late son, Joseph for several years. Also surviving is her beloved son, Vincent and his spouse, Margarieta; her beloved sister, Carol of Middletown, NY; also 3 beloved grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 3 brothers, Walter, Edward and Vincent Janiak. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 13th from 10-11AM at T.S. Purta Funeral Home, 22 Glenmere Avenue, Florida, NY 10921. A funeral mass will be celebrated 11:00AM, Friday, November 13th at St. Joseph Church, Florida, NY. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Florida, NY.
