"Bye Bye Auntie Fran. May you rest in peace. I hope Heaven has all you wish for, including an outfit for every occasion, shoes to match, a fancy car to go with it and english muffins for breakfast." My fond memories of you include many visits to your apartment. I loved your apartment itself, with the pretty molding, high ceilings, big windows, creaky floors and stairs. The heavy entry doors that stuck held mystery: would they be open this visit, or would we have to wait for you to come down and let us in? I loved your closet in the front hallway. In that closet were all those shoeboxes filled with shoes and fancy slippers just my size when I was a girl. I tried on some, but was too shy to ask to try them all on. I will never forget your yellow bottle of Topaz perfume with the yellow gem on top that sat on your dresser. I don't know what year the actual perfume ran out, but the bottle remained. Other memories include Hershey's Miniatures candy and your old fridge with the vintage handle that made a clunking noise when opening. Then there was your record player/stereo. After a few knick knacks were cleared from the top, we slid the cover open and my brothers and I played the 45 record The Night Chicago Died over and over. Outside the walls of your apartment, one of my funniest memories with you was at Rayella's. I was about 10 years old. Ray, Rob and I went with you and spent the night. We made chocolate covered frozen bananas. The funny comes in when we were swimming and a bee bit me on the butt when I was floating on a raft. I screamed and ran out of the pool. You and Rayella wanted to "look" at the bite and I was too embarrassed to show you ladies my duppa! Fast forward, my favorite was July of 2007, when I was able to visit NY with my girls and have them meet my family. We had a picnic at Aunt Boob's in Chester and watched fireworks. One night the girls and I slept over with you. And there sat the bottle of Topaz! Love always, Susie Goose
