Anthony Rebisz a resident of Pine Island, NY for 42 years, entered into rest on Friday, February 26, 2016. He was 88. The son of the late Adam Rebisz & Anne Serefin Rebisz, he was born February 20, 1928 in Garfield, NJ. He was a US Navy Veteran who served during WWII. He was a self-employed contractor who operated Garfield Home Maintenance and later retired from the State of New Jersey. He was a member of St. Stanislaus Church, Pine Island, NY and Garfield, NJ and the Pine Island Senior Citizens. He was a member of Knights of Columbus where he served as a third degree. He was very active in the Boy Scouts and was a recipient of the Pelican Award. He was the devoted husband of Mary Veliky Rebisz of 65 years; a loving father to his 4 children; son, Blake Rebisz (Patty); son, Bruce Rebisz (Sue); Brian Rebisz (Lynda); daughter, Kathy Rebisz; 9 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his two sisters, Bertha (Bob) Burek and Jean (Edward) Szczypien. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 29th from 5-7PM at T.S. Purta Funeral Home, 690 Co Rt# 1, Pine Island, NY 10969. Funeral mass will be held 10AM Tuesday, March 1st at St. Stanislaus Church, 17 Pulaski Highway, Pine Island, NY 10969. Graveside services will be held 12noon at St. Michaels Cemetery, Lodi, NJ. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the T.S.
