Obituary of Clayton J. Eurich

Clayton J. Eurich of Warwick, NY, entered into rest on Thursday, April 17, 2014. He was 87. The son of the late Jacob Eurich & Anna Rudy Eurich, he was born on September 21, 1926 in Warwick, NY. Clayton served his country during WWII in the U.S. Navy. When the war was over, Clayton went to work for the Lehigh-Hudson Railroad as an electrician and conductor. After leaving the railroad, he started Clayton Eurich Electric where he was in business for over 50 years. He was a longtime member, elder and usher for the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Warwick, and a Member, Past Commander and Chaplain of the Warwick VFW # 4662 and was a member of the Raymond Hose Company of the Warwick Fire Department. He also dedicated his life to Boy Scout Troop 45, being active for almost 50 years. During those years he served many titles including Scout Master and Committee Chairman and never missed attending summer camp. Clayton was honored as the 2008-2009 Warwick Valley Citizen of the Year by the Warwick Valley Chamber of Commerce for his dedication to his community. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Henrietta Blaikner Eurich; daughter, Susan Eurich; Son, Bruce Eurich & wife Judy; he is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews and many great friends. He was predeceased by 4 sisters, Marie Mutchler, Viola Faulls, Caroline Decker & Lydia Hornyak; 3 brothers, Henry, Jacob & Paul Eurich. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 21st from 4-8pm at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 95 Kings Highway, Warwick, NY 10990. VFW Services will be held on Monday 6:30PM followed by firematic services at 7PM at the church. Funeral Services will be held 11AM Tuesday, April 22nd at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Warwick. Pastor Kenneth Susskraut will officiate. Burial will be in Warwick Cemetery, Warwick, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church Renovation Fund, PO Box 218, Warwick, NY 10990 or to the Boy Scout Troop 45 Summer Camp Fund, 1 Union Corners Road, Warwick, NY 10990.
