Obituary of Stanislas A. Wiecek

Stanislas Wiecek of Westtown, NY, a lifelong resident, died Friday, July 1, 2016 at home, surrounded by his family. Born in Goshen on December 18, 1927 to Joseph & Janina Wiecek, he was 88 years old. Survivors include his loving wife, Arice (Ann) at home; his sister, Eugenia Mitchell of Goshen; step-children, Linda, Susie and Jimmy, and several nieces and nephews. He also leaves his beloved dog, Pepper. He was predeceased by his brother, John Wiecek. Stanley grew up growing onions in the black dirt of Pine Island, and was the owner of WKW Farms. He was one of the founders, and a past president, of the Orange County Vegetable Growers Association, President and Director of Orange County Vegetable Improvement Cooperative Association, and was a Board Member of the National Bank of Florida. Stanley was an avid hunter and pilot, and a long-time member of Whippoorwill Hunting Club, and he often flew to different parts of the country to hunt. One of his happiest adventures was hunting in British Columbia where he bagged a Big Horn Goat. Stanley always had a good sense of humor and loved to tell stories. He was always generous and giving to both family and friends. He was an "old-fashioned" gentleman. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Stanley's name may be made to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties, Inc., 800 Stony Brook Court, Newburgh, NY 12550. Cremation and burial will be private.
