Obituary of Edward C. Tomcho

Edward C. Tomcho of Florida, NY, a lifelong resident of the area, entered into rest on Tuesday, August 2, 2016. He was 77. The son of the late Joseph Tomcho & Stella Klepadlo Tomcho, he was born December 20, 1938 in Florida, NY. He was an active member of St. Joseph Church where he was a lecturer for many years. Past President of St. Joseph's HSO; Past President St. Joseph's Holy Name Society; Past President of the Florida Board of Education; Past President of Sullivan, Orange, Ulster Radio Society; Past member of St. Joseph's Christmas Choir; Past President of Seward Senior Citizens group; Past member of local E.A.A.; Emcee & drummer for the Dominoes. He was also an active member of the Chester Union Free School District where he taught for 38 years. He also taught BOCES afternoon and evening adult courses. He is survived by his wife of 50 wonderful years, Marie Tomcho; daughter, Sandra Marie Tomcho Dunlop & her husband Michael Dunlop; son, Robert E. Tomcho & fiancé Christine Aiello; son, Edward J. Tomcho & fiancé Sandra Marie Sumallo; 2 sisters, Leona Coleman & Rosalie Quinlan & husband Richard. He is further survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Stacia Palmer and brother, Joseph Tomcho. Visitation will be held Thursday, August 4th from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at T.S. Purta Funeral Home, 22 Glenmere Avenue, Florida, NY 10921. Funeral mass will be held 10AM Friday, August 5th at St. Joseph Church, Florida, NY. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Florida, NY.
