Obituary of Stasia Palmer

Stasia Palmer of Florida, NY, a retired switchboard operator at Orange Farm in Goshen after working there 32 years, entered into rest on Friday, May 23, 2014 in The Valley View Center, Goshen, NY. She was 86. The daughter of the late Joseph Tomcho & Stella Klepadlo Tomcho, she was born on March 20, 1928 in Dickson City, PA. Mom loved her heritage and holidays, especially organizing her 4th of July and Christmas parties. She worked side by side with her husband Daniel on their onion farm. She was a member of St. Joseph Church and it's Living Rosary Society; she was a dedicated member and participant in the Orange County Onion Harvest Festivals; member of the Florida Fun Fest Committee, Hudson Valley Polonaise Society and was a Cub Scout Den mother. She is survived by her son, Gary Daniel Palmer of Westtown; daughter, Deborah Lee Gerczak & husband Richard of Florida, NY; son, Daniel Joseph Palmer & wife Sharon, of Goshen; son, David Gary Palmer & wife Jody of Middletown. Grandchildren Erin Lynn Green & husband Gary, Jill Danielle Gerczak & fiancé Peter Villano, Jeffrey Anthony Palmer & wife Katherine, Daniel Palmer Jr., and Courtney Lynn & Caitlin Marie Palmer. Brother Edward Tomcho & wife Marie of Florida, NY; 2 sisters, Leona Coleman of Florida, NY and Rosalie Quinlan & husband Richard of Goshen, NY and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Daniel "Paja" Palmer and brother Joseph Tomcho. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 27th from 2-4 & 6-8pm at T.S. Purta Funeral Home, 22 Glenmere Avenue, Florida, NY 10921. A funeral mass will be held 10AM Wednesday, May 28th at St. Joseph Church, Florida, NY. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Florida, NY. The family would like to thank Hospice of Orange & Sullivan and to "The Angels" on Grand Avenue of the Couser Building at Valley View for the care they gave to our mom.
