Obituary of Donald Charles Jones

Donald Charles Jones a resident of Florida, NY for over 40 years, entered into rest on Thursday, June 12, 2014 at St. Anthony Community Hospital, Warwick, NY. He was 70. The son of the late Arthur Jones and Esther Keibler Jones, he was born May 13, 1944 in New Kensington, PA. He was a member of the Florida Fire Department; President of the Florida-Pine Island Jaycees; President of the local Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and a former Cub Scout Leader for Troop 44, Florida, NY. Survivors include his son, Donald L. Jones of Florida, NY; 3 brothers, Ronald Jones of Tx and Gary Jones and Arthur Jones of PA; sister, Darlene McElheny of PA; And several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his ex-wife, Mary Jane Jones and daughter, Lori Ann Jones and a brother Alvin Jones. Visitation will be held Monday, June 16th from 7-9PM at the T.S. Purta Funeral Home, 22 Glenmere Avenue, Florida, NY. As per his wishes, there will be no funeral service and cremation will be held privately.
