Elizabeth Cooper Figliacconi died peacefully at home on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 with her family by her side. She was 71 years old. Born April 15, 1943 in Ithaca, New York, she was the daughter of the late Wilson and Elizabeth (Ryan) Cooper. The widow of Julius R. Figliacconi, she is survived by her daughter, Lynn (Kujawski) McGovern and husband Michael of Monroe; sons, Robert J. Figliacconi and John M. Figliacconi, both at home; and three grandchildren: Ryan McGovern, Kathryn McGovern and Erin McGovern. She was predeceased by a son, Scott Vincent Kujawski. Elizabeth was a member of the American Legion Post #1250 Ladies Auxiliary, the Seward Seniors, the Orange County Grand Jurors Association, Orange County Republican Party Committee Woman for District 3, past officer of the S.S. Seward Alumni Association, former member of the Minisink Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and past president/member of the Florida Union Free School District Board of Education. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 13th from 4-7PM at T.S. Purta Funeral Home, 22 Glenmere Avenue, Florida, NY 10921. A mass of Christian burial will be held 10AM Monday, July 14th at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, 20 Glenmere Avenue, Florida, NY 10921. Interment will be in the Orange County Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Goshen, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to the Center for Discovery, PO Box 840, Harris, NY 12742.
