Elizabeth Machnicki of Goshen, NY, a lifelong resident of the area, entered into rest on Monday, May 30, 2011 in Good Samaritan Hospital, Suffern. She was 81. The daughter of the late Clarence and Josephine Gailie VanSickle, she was born on January 10,1930 in Goshen, NY. Since retiring from NYS/CSEA as an LPN, she had been private duty nursing. She is survived by her son, Stanley Machnicki and wife Norine of Goshen; her beloved grandson Walter, and cherished granddaughter Kaitlyn; daughter, Debra Machnicki and husband Stephen Wood of Westtown; step grandchildren, Ben & Lauren Wood; 4 sisters, Pauline and husband Amedy, Virginia Kurdyla and husband Walter, Joanie Gregory and Lillian Lippert; 1 brother, Richard VanSickle and wife Ellie; sister-in-law, Edna Machnicki. Several nieces and nephews; many good friends and neighbors. She was predeceased by her husband Walter C. Machnicki; brother, John and sister, Frances. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at T.S. Purta Funeral Home, 690 County Route# 1, Pine Island, NY 10969. Funeral mass will be held 11:00 AM on Friday, June 3rd at St. Stanislaus Church, Pine Island. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Florida. Memorial contributions may made to the Florida Fire and Rescue Squad, PO Box 600, Florida, NY 10921.
