James R. Leinweber of Warwick entered into rest on Saturday July 16, 2011 at ORMC Horton Campus after a short but courageous battle with lymphoma. He was 68. The son of the late John and Sophie Paffenroth Leinweber he was born January 2, 1943 in Warwick. Jim was a retired foreman and heavy equipment operator for Orange County DPW, Goshen, NY. Survivors include his wife and devoted care giver Patricia Leinweber at home; daughter Barbara Scheuermann and her husband Curtis of Sparrowbush, NY; Grandchildren Kevin Leinweber of California, Brittany Scheuermann and fiancé John, Brandon Scheuermann of Syracuse , Robert Pawlowski of Manahaucken, NJ , Brooke Scheuermann of Sparrowbush; 2 Great-Grandsons; Brother Richard Leinweber of Warwick; Sisters Lilia Eurich of State of Florida, Mildred Kulak of Warwick, Ruth Ann Higgins and husband Andrew of Massachusetts; and several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his brother Al Leinweber ,daughter Lisa Pawlowski and grandson Daniel Hermann. Jim’s family would like to extend their thanks to Dr. Sethi and the nurses and staff at the Tucker Cancer Center for the wonderful care they provided to him during his illness. Visitation will be held on Monday July 18, 2011 at T.S. Purta Funeral Home 690 Co. Rt. 1 Pine Island, NY from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral Service will be held 10 AM Tuesday July 19, 2011 at St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Little York Rd. Warwick. Pastor Travis Yee will officiate. Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Warwick.
