Clara Pierce, of New Hampton, NY , a lifelong area resident, entered into rest on Saturday, May 19, 2012 in Orange Regional Medical Center, Middletown. She was 87. The daughter of the late Joseph Poloniak Sr. and Agnes Zak Poloniak, she was born on July 16, 1924 in Pine Island, NY. She was a member of St. Josephs, Church Florida, NY. She is survived by her husband Chester Pierce at home; Son Stephen Pierce and wife Lidia of New Hampton, NY ; Daughter Christina Murphy and husband John of Middletown, NY; Son Joseph Pierce and wife Janine of New Hampton, NY ; Step Grandchildren Lilia and husband Sasha; Andrei and wife Genia; Step great grandchildren Alicia, Lauriana, and Vicky of Montreal , Canada; Grandchildren Michael Murphy and wife Carly, Meghan Murphy; John, Helene, and Rebecca Pierce; Sister Marie Wagoner and husband Jim of Schenectady, NY ; Brother Joseph Poloniak and wife Susan of Tennessee; several nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; and great great nieces and nephews . Pre-deceased by brothers, Louis and Paul Poloniak and sister, Sister Mary Frances Poloniak. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 21, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at T.S. Purta Funeral Home, 22 Glenmere Ave., Florida, NY 10921. A funeral mass will be held 10 am on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at St. Josephs Church, 20 Glenmere Ave.,Florida, NY. Burial will be in St. Josephs Cemetery, Florida, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Josephs Church, 14 Glenmere Ave., Florida, NY 10921.
