Lucy Shanley of Florida, NY entered into rest on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 in St. Teresa's Nursing Home, Middletown, NY. She was 93. The daughter of the late John and Julia Maciag Augustyn, she was born on December 1, 1918 in Brooklyn, NY. She was a member of St. Josephs Living Rosary Society, Seward Seniors, Florida, and the Blooming Grove Seniors, Blooming Grove, NY. "Mom was a master at crocheting and knitting, an avid bingo player, and an avid gardener who loved her flowers." She was married to the late William L. Shanley. Survivors include her son, Ronald Shanley and wife Janine of Florida, NY; daughter Patricia Czubak and husband Richard of Florida, NY; 4 grandchildren Deborah Czubak , Richard E. Czubak and wife Linda, Jason Shanley, and Carie Manzo and husband Kevin; great-grandchildren Zachary and Dylan Czubak, Kyle, Keegan, and Colbie Manzo; several nieces and nephews; and her cat Princess. She was predeceased by her son Robert, Mary Szczech, Emily Mruczek, and Teddy Augustyn. Visitation will be held from 4-7 pm on Wednesday, June 20th at T.S. Purta Funeral Home, 22 Glenmere Ave. Florida, NY. Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 am, Thursday, June 21st at St. Josephs Church Florida, NY. Burial will be in St. Stephens Cemetery, Warwick. Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan 800 Stony Brook Ct. Newburgh, NY 12550 or the Florida Fire and Rescue P.O. Box 600 Florida, NY 10921.
