George G. Vradenburgh "Grandpa Barns" of the Town of Newburgh, NY, entered into rest on Tuesday, January 15, 2013, surrounded by his loving family. He was 97. The son of the late Levi P. & Mabel Vradenburgh, he was born on July 7, 1915 in Gardner, NY. He was the widower of the late Martha "Marty" Banick Vradenburgh who he devoted his life to for 71 years. Georges lifelong passion for cooking was apparent by his established eateries in the area, The Monterey, Ma & Pa's Restaurant and The Orange County Airport. He then retired to the State of Florida. Survivors include his two sons, George D. Vradenburgh of Newburgh; David J. Vradenburgh of Valley Stream, NY. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Diana Sherwood, Lisa (Joe) Miele, Laura (Mark) Colton, Lori (Ron) Lundenburg, Carol (Patrick) Vradenburgh McLane, Michael (Patti) Gerentine, Michelle (Jim) Pendergast, Gina (Jason) Parrish; 19 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. He was predeceased by three brothers and three sisters, cherished daughter Shirley Ann Gerentine, great grandson, Daniel J. Sullivan and daughter in laws, Lucille Vradenburgh and Patricia Vradenburgh. There will be no public visitation. Graveside Services will be held 11:00 AM on Friday, January 18th at St. Columba's Cemetery, Chester, NY. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to Ginny Urban and Coleen McGrath.
