Obituary of Michael Anthony Sciarretta

Michael Anthony Sciarretta of Warwick, NY, entered into rest on Monday, April 1, 2013 at home. He was 64. The son of the late Anthony & Olympia Scarmozzino Sciarretta, he was born July 26, 1948. Survivors include his loving wife, and daughter, Susan Case Sciarretta and Nia Sciarretta; sister, Geraldine Varnauskas (Sciarretta); nephews, Jimmy & Joseph Varnauskas; nieces, Debra LaPlant, Kristi Case, Abby Fitzgerald, Julie Kaplan, Tiffany Rice & Cassie Case; brothers-in-law, Theodore & Peter Case. Michael was retired from a long career as a social worker and psychotherapist. Mr. Sciaretta's poetry has appeared in a number of journals and a chapbook of his works entitled "Estuary" published in 2012. Memorial service will be held 11:00AM Wednesday, April 24th at T.S. Purta Funeral Home, 690 County Route#1, Pine Island, NY 10969. After the memorial service, friends, family and co-workers are invited to a repas at the PLAV Hall (Polish Legion) on Legion Road, Pine Island from 12 to 2PM.
