Obituary of Anna R. Gayewski

Anna R. Gayewski of Hamburg, NJ, formerly of Pine Island, NY, entered into rest on Sunday, April 28, 2013 in Andover Subacute & Rehabilitation Center, Andover, NJ. She was 92. The daughter of the late Samuel Kosminsky & Agnes Ostroski Kosminsky, she was born on March 7, 1921 in Franklin, NJ. She was a member of St. Stanislaus Church, Pine Island. She resided in the Franklin area most of her life with the exception of 25 years with her late husband Barney Gayewski of Pine Island. Mrs. Gayewski worked for Ames Rubber Corp. for 27 years retiring in 1985. She is survived by 2 daughters; Harriet Ratynski & husband Fred of Punta Gorda, FL; Mary Ann Thomas & husband Alex of Mc Afee, NJ; daughter-in-law, Karen Bennett of Franklin, NJ; 7 Grandchildren, Bridget & Bryan Gurda, Fred & Bonnie Ratynski; Kevin & Debbie Ratynski, Scott & Melissa Thomas, Jen & Mike Takama, Carrie & Harry Takama and Christine & RJ Byma; 13 Great grandchildren, Nichole Felker, Scott Thomas Jr., Leigha Thomas, Russell Thomas, Morgan Ratynski, Julia Ratynski, Samantha & Jana Takama, Colton & Ava Takama, Richard, Luke & Dean Byma. 1 Great great granddaughter, Gabriella Presky; sister, Agnes Dinges & husband Bill of Lafayette, NJ; Sisters-in-law; Angie Kosminsky & Ila Kosminsky of Franklin, NJ and Viola Hojnacki of Warwick, NY and Virginia Bastek of Westtown, NY. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Barney Gayewski & 2 sons, Harry & Russell Bennett; 6 brothers, Michael, Pete, John, Anthony & Harry Kosminsky and Samuel Muchion; 2 sisters, Mary Cavalleri & Helen Himmelstein. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 1st from 9am-12noon at the T.S. Purta Funeral Home, 690 County Rt#1, Pine Island, NY 10969. A funeral service will be held 12 noon Wednesday, May 1st at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Pine Island.
