Obituary of Donald E.P. Shaddock

Donald E.P. Shaddock of Florida. NY passed away Saturday April 27 at home. He was 81. The son of Elijah Shaddock and Mary Wisniewski he was born July 9, 1931 in Goshen. He graduated from high schools in both Panama and SS Seward Institute in Florida He worked nearly 40 years at Middletown Savings Bank, beginning as a teller and ending as assistant vice president and mortgage officer when he retired in 1993. He also worked evenings for 25 years at Orange County Community College, from where he graduated, as an assistant librarian. He was attending Rider College in Trenton NJ when he was drafted and soon after served in the Korean War near the DMZ, attaining the rank of sergeant in the Army. He is survived by nine first cousins including John Szefc of Goshen; Richard Szefc of Westport, CT; Gary Kline of Calabash, NC; Karen Serrano of South Plainfield, NJ ; Deborah Ranouin of Piscataway, NJ; Jeffrey Schadt of Pine Island; James Schadt of Troy; Phillip Schadt of Maybrook, Arlene Schadt of Tampa, FL and Gregory Schadt as well as several other second cousins.. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, May 2nd at the T.S. Purta Funeral Home, 22 Glenmere Avenue, Florida, NY 10921. A funeral mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 3rd at St. John¹s RC Church in Goshen. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Florida, NY. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Florida Fire Department, PO Box 600, Florida, NY 10921.
