Obituary of Robert I. Sztendor

Robert I. "PaPa" Sztendor of Pine Island, NY, a truck driver for Jones Chemical, Warwick, NY, died unexpectedly on Monday, May 06, 2013. He was 65. The son of the late Ignatius & Nellie Grzywaczewski Sztendor, he was born on March 27, 1948 in Warwick, NY. Robert was a member of the Pulaski Fire Company for over 25 years. His love of farming, tractors, guns, his family, and most of all, Chase, will never be forgotten. He touched so many lives that he welcomed in as part of his family. We are so blessed to have been able to make so many wonderful memories with him. Survivors include his loving wife of 43 years, Deborah Matusewski Sztendor at home; Son, Robert Sztendor and Erin O"Brien of Pine Island, NY; Daughter, Dawn Porter & husband Scott of Pine Island; Grandson, Chase Porter. 4 Sisters, Caroline Evans & husband Raymond of Slate Hill, NY; Cecilia Glowaczewski & husband Raymond of Goshen; Joan Watch & husband Donald of Westtown; Theresa Niski & husband John of Middletown. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Patricia Urbanski Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 9th from 4-8PM at the T.S. Purta Funeral Home, 690 County Route# 1, Pine Island, NY 10969. Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 AM on Friday, May 10th at St. Stanislaus Church, Pine Island. The Reverend Joseph Tokarczyk will officiate. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Pine Island.
