Obituary of Katherine Giunta-Lobban

Katherine "Kitty" Giunta-Lobban of Wurtsboro, NY died at home on May 22, 2013 surrounded by her family, after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. Kitty was born May 21, 1934 in Brooklyn, NY. She was the daughter of the late Joseph Misita and Mary Scarlotta Misita. She was the wife of the late Harry Giunta, who predeceased her tragically at the age of 36. She was lucky enough to find another great love in her husband Bruce Lobban who survives her at home. Kitty grew up in Brooklyn and Levittown, LI then later moved to Queens. She was a practice administrator for the Surgical Associates at Jamaica Hospital in Queens, NY for many years before she moved to Orange County, NY. Her greatest joy was her children, grandchildren and later great grandchildren. She is survived by her husband Bruce at home; her daughter, Denise Giunta, her tireless caregiver; her daughter Donna Consepcion and her husband Papo. She is predeceased by her son, Harry Giunta Jr. In addition, she is survived by her grandchildren; Jason Newton, Carlos Gonzalez, Kristy Salcedo and Bruce Andrade; her great grandchildren, Kameron Gonzalez, Julian Andrade and DeAngelo Newton. She is also survived by her brother Joseph Misita and sister Marlene Block, both of Long Island. The family would like to thank her caregivers from Orange and Sullivan Hospice, especially Jessica and Maria. A special "thank you" to Debbie & Tony. Services and cremation will be private, there will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund or Hospice of Orange and Sullivan.
