Robert Myers Weeden, Sr. of Westtown, NY passed away at home on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 celebrating 100 years of life.
The son of Oliver James and Jennie Clark Weeden, he was born the eldest of seven on December 11, 1912 in Greenville, Orange County, NY. Robert and his wife, Alice H. Weeden celebrated their 82nd wedding anniversary on June 15, 2013.
By 1940, Bob and his wife saved enough money during the Great Depression years to rent a 100-acre farm and 5 years later purchased their own 200 acre farm in the Town of Minisink. Together with their 2 children, Robert and Clara, they continued farming until 1959, then sold the farm and Bob began a new career as an electrician and plumber. He loved his gardening, was always ready to go bowling, spent his retirement wood working and building countless mementos for his family and had a passion of collecting and building clocks.
Bob is survived by his wife Alice of Westtown, daughter Clara and son-in-law Stanley Toffel of Westtown, 5 grandchildren Toni Weeden, Teresa Gurdineer (Rob), Dawn Murphy (Lee), Glenn Toffel (Vicki), Cathy Ayers (David), 8 great grandchildren Michael Gurdineer (Melissa), Marion Spar (Andre), Matthew Gurdineer (Erin), Marcus Gurdineer (Emely), Jennifer Ball (Jason), Johnathan Murphy, Joshua Toffel and Danielle Toffel, 8 great-great grandchildren Colette, Blaze, Haylee, Olivia, Ayva, Zoey, Dylan and Charlotte and his sister Erma Deutsch (Arthur).
