Edmund Pawelek of Florida, NY, entered into rest on Sunday, February 16, 2014 at home. He was 84. The son of the late Thomas Pawelek & Adeline Siegel, he was born on July 16, 1929 in Warwick, NY. He was a U.S. Marine Veteran who served in the Korean Conflict He was a member of St. Joseph Church, Florida, NY and a member of the American Legion Post 1250, Florida, NY Survivors include his Sister, Anastasia Swiatkowski & her husband Edward of Riverhead, Long Island; Sister in law, Ann Pawelek of Warwick; Sister in law, Clara Grzyb of Florida, NY; Sister in law Theresa Noha & husband Harry of Millsboro, DE. Several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Frances Grzyb Pawelek, 3 sisters, Constance Stopper, Helen Pawelek & Charlotte Kluczewski; Brother, Joseph Pawelek and Brother in law, Raymond Grzyb. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 21st from 2-4 & 7-9pm at T.S. Purta Funeral Home, 22 Glenmere Avenue, Florida, NY 10921. Legion services will be held 7PM at the funeral home. Funeral mass will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, February 22nd at St. Joseph Church, Florida, NY. Burial will be St. Joseph Cemetery, Florida, NY. Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Joseph Church, 14 Glenmere Avenue, Florida, NY 10921.
