John Rodriguez of Florida, NY, a retired line worker at Ford Motor Company, Mahwah, NJ, and a retired Kitchen Aide of Arden Hill Life Care Center, Goshen, NY, entered into rest on Friday, February 14, 2014 at home. He was 80. The son of the late John & Esperanza Matto Rodriguez, he was born on March 20, 1933 in Brooklyn, NY. Survivors include his wife Linda Rodriguez at home, Florida, NY; 4 children, Elizabeth Nadal & husband Ramon of Kingston, NY; John Rodriguez & wife Helen of Dingmans Ferry, PA; Edward DuVall & wife Amber of Unadilla, NY and David DuVall of Unadilla, NY; 7 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews & great nieces and great nephews. Predeceased by sister, Beatrice DeRossi; nephew, Donald Anderson; grandson, Jesse McCann and brother in law, George Redner. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 21st from 2-4 & 7-9pm at T.S. Purta Funeral Home, 22 Glenmere Avenue, Florida, NY 10921. Funeral services will be held 8pm on Friday, February 21st at the funeral home. The Pastor Tim Barnes will officiate. Burial will be in the spring in Yaleville Cemetery, Guilford, NY. In lieu flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Warwick Valley Humane Society, PO Box 61, Warwick, NY 10990; Chenango SPCA, 6160 County Route 32, Norwich, NY 13815 or to Living Word Church, 93 Lakeshore Drive, West Milford, NJ 07421.
