Obituary of Mary N. Dudlo

Mary N. Dudlo of Goshen, NY, formerly of Pine Island, NY, gladly went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, November 8, 2014. She was 97. Mary was born on May 14, 1917 in Argyle, NY the daughter of Anna Ogorzaly Niemec & Joseph Niemec. During World War II, Mary did her patriotic duty by working in an airplane assembly plant in Oakland, CA. She soldered wires on the wings of P-51 bombers, these were short distant planes used in Europe that carried only one bomb. After the war Mary returned to the family home in Paterson, NJ. Mary married Edward B. Dudlo on Dec. 1, 1945. They had an onion farm in Pine Island, where they raised their family. In 1968 they moved to Virginia Beach, VA, where they lived & worked for 10 years before returning to Goshen. Mary is survived by her son, Edward A. Dudlo & his wife Linda of Roswell, NM and her daughter, Frances M. Grohoski & her husband Lee of Lodi, NY. She also has 4 grandsons; Edward James Dudlo & his wife Paula of Dallas, TX, Raymond Peter Dudlo & his wife Trisha of Newburgh, IN, Jason L. Grohoski & his wife Beverly of Cordova, TN, and Joseph E. Grohoski of Ovid, NY. She also has 3 great granddaughters, Ella Grace & Sarah Kate of Dallas, TX, and Aria Isabelle of Newburgh, IN;She is also survived by 2 sisters in law Blanche Dudlo, and Irene Dudlo both of Pine Island, NY and many nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by her husband in 2001, also her parents, 2 sisters, Sophie & Helen Niemec and 1 brother, Walter Niemec. Visitation will be held on Thursday November 13, 2014 from 2-4 PM at the T.S. Purta Funeral Home, 690 Co. Rt#1, Pine Island, NY 10969. A funeral mass will be held 10AM on Friday November 14, 2014 at St. Stanislaus Church, 17 Pulaski Highway, Pine Island, NY. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Pine Island.
