Obituary of Thomas A. Matuseski
Thomas A. Matuseski of Boynton Beach, FL, formerly of Florida, NY, entered into rest on Sunday, January 28, 2018. He was 36.
The son of Linda Ball Matuseski & Thomas Matuseski, he was born March 23, 1981 in Warwick, NY.
Survivors include his mother, Linda Matuseski of Florida, NY; father, Thomas Matuseski of Slate Hill, NY; son, Austin Thomas Bechtel of, Alexandria, Kentucky; sister, Lyndsay Santa & husband Andre and their daughters, Thomas’ nieces, Leeya and Ashlynn, of Middletown, NY; sister, Mallory Matuseski & fiancé James Drury of Florida, NY; maternal grandmother, Betty Ball; aunt, Mary Cuzo; uncle Jesus Cuzo; uncle William Meurer; aunt & uncle, Judy & Greg Dawson; uncle, Gary Ball; uncle Frank Lempka; cousins and also his best friend, Billy Meurer, Jaimee Sullivan, Frank, Timmy, Patrick & Cory Lempka & Zach Cuzo.
He was predeceased by maternal grandfather, Walter Ball; paternal grandparents, Elmeda Kibling Matuseski Shuback & Daniel “Bucky” Matuseski & Marilyn Matuseski.
Thomas was from childhood, a huge sports enthusiast. He excelled at soccer and basketball, but Baseball was his game of passion. He led his long time teammates to the New York State High School Championship in 1999, his Senior Year and was chosen the New York State High School Player of the year.
A two-time member of the Hudson Valley Team for the Empire State Games, Thomas finished his baseball career with Methodist College in Fayetteville, NC where he graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration.
Thomas loves his family, especially his son- Austin Thomas. He has been a leader and inspiration to countless people and will forever be in their hearts. Thomas made an impact in this place we call our world- never to be forgotten.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 5th from 4pm to 8 PM at T.S. Purta Funeral Home, 22 Glenmere Avenue, Florida, NY 10921.
Funeral service will be held 11 AM Tuesday, February 6th at the Florida Presbyterian Church, Florida, NY.
As per Thomas’ wishes, cremation will be held privately.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Christopher’s Inn, 21 Franciscan Way, Garrison, NY 10524. “A Home” for those who have temporarily lost their way – to grant them focus and the will to overcome addiction. To invest in Hope, the Gift that will last forever.
