Larry C. Hastings Sr. of Warwick, NY entered into rest March 3, 2014 at home with his family by his side. He was 71. The son of the late Franklin and Alice Horton Hastings he was born May 30, 1942 in Philipsburg, Pa. He was retired from both the Hudson County Carpenters Union Local 6 and Warwick Valley Central School District. Larry always said he was a "Jack of all trades and a master of none." He was a U.S. Army Veteran where he served as a Combat Engineer. Survivors include: His wife Margaret at home; son Larry C. Hastings Jr. of Warwick; daughter Amy Zegers and husband Andrew of Warwick; daughter Candy Matuszewski and husband John of Goshen, NY; five Granddaughters Amber, Kristen, Jaycee, Caitlin, and Brianna and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 4 brothers and one sister. Visitation will be held on Friday March 7, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the T.S. Purta Funeral Home 22 Glenmere Ave. Florida, NY 10921. Burial of his ashes with full military honors will be on Monday March 10, 2014 12 Noon at Orange County Veterans Cemetery 111 Craigville Rd. Goshen, NY. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan 800 Stony Brook Ct. Newburgh, NY 12550; or Wounded Warrior Project P.O.
