Obituary of Victoria Weslowski
Victoria Weslowski of Florida, NY, entered into rest on December 19, 2020 at her home surrounded by family members and pets, just shy of her 91st birthday.
Born on December 23, 1929 in Radgoszcz Ddabrowa Tarnowska, Poland to the late Stanley and Sophia Dyjak Pikul, she immigrated to the US with her family while still a child and became a proud American citizen.
Vickie was an extraordinarily vibrant, loving and giving person, often putting the rest of us to shame with her energy and sheer appreciation of life. Always a lady, she was quick to give a smile, had a great sense of humor and a devilish sparkle in her eyes. First and foremost, a loving wife and mother, Vickie was also an onion farmer and ran the family farm for generations during the summer and was a seamstress during the winter.
She was a devout member of St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church and choir member and a long-standing member of the Living Rosary Society. Vickie was also a member of the 1989 & 1995 Onion Harvest Festival Choir. She was a member of the Seward Senior Club, where she met numerous people and developed lasting friendships, which she deeply cherished.
She was pre-deceased by her husband of 64 years, Walter William (“Slim”) Weslowski and her sister Jane Nasierowski. Vickie will be sorely missed by her son, Joseph Weslowski and daughter-in-law, Gail; her daughter Bernice Langlitz and a special son-in-law Richie; her siblings, Sr. Bernice Pikul, C.S.S.F. of Rhode Island; Stanley Pikul and wife Mollie of Georgia; several nieces and nephews, and her furry grand pets, Kitty, Maddie, Toby and will miss the under-the-table handouts! Vicky will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 28th from 3-6pm at T.S. Purta Funeral Home, 22 Glenmere Avenue, Florida, NY 10921. A funeral mass will be held 10AM Tuesday, December 29th at St. Joseph Church, 20 Glenmere Avenue, Florida, NY 10291.
