Muriel Margaret Paulsen 98, a resident of Valley View Nursing Home, formerly of Riverhead and Queens New York passed into eternal rest on January 7, 2021. She was born on November 25, 1922 in Brooklyn, New York. She was the daughter of the late Arthur and Elizabeth (Murray) Mallon. Formerly of Riverhead Muriel was and active choir member and parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Church. She was devoted to and inspired by her strong catholic faith. For many years she worked as an EKG technician at Jamaica Hospital in Queens. Muriel was a devoted homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother. She loved to write stories, songs and poems and delighted in reciting them and sharing them with family and friends. She was pre-deceased by her husband’s Leon Poltenovage and George Paulsen, also by her daughter Marilyn Gil and granddaughter Laura Banks. She is survived by her son Robert Poltenovage and his wife Kathleen of Warwick NY and her grandchildren Robert Poltenovage and Erin Poltenovage. The family would like to thank the nurses, aides, activity staff and friends on Glenmere Ground at Valley View for the love and care they gave to Muriel. Funeral mass will be celebrated at Saint Joseph's Church in Florida New York 10AM on Monday January 11,2021.
