Obituary of Rita Morgiewicz

Rita Morgiewicz of Wurtsboro, NY, formerly of Pine Island, NY, entered into rest on Monday, October 17, 2022.  She was 82.

The daughter of the late James Ira Brigham and Dorothy Evelyn Mitterwager Brigham, she was born on September 4, 1940 in Damascus, PA.

She is survived by her son, Larry Morgiewicz (Arlene) of Greenville, NY; son, Floyd Morgiewicz (Monica Mushlit) of Pine Island, NY; daughter, Lori Kirschkel (Ralph) of Garnerville, NY; son Jeffrey Morgiewicz (Dave Eschborn) of Wurtsboro, NY; 5 grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth, Kayla, Amanda and Bryan (Kim) Morgiewicz; and Trent Kirschkel; 3 great grandchildren, Azariah, Kohen James and Evelynn Rose; sister, Phyllis Starnes of Ocala, FL; sister, Joyce Creighton of Delray Beach, FL; brother James Brigham (Mary Jane) of Unionville, NY; along with numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband Clarence Leon Morgiewicz; brothers, Douglas Ira Brigham and “Gene” Brigham; and sisters, Elaine Grabowski and Nancy Kathleen Brigham.

Memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, October 27^th from 5-8pm at T.S. Purta Funeral Home, 690 County Route# 1, Pine Island, NY 10969.

Memorial funeral mass will be held 10:30AM Friday, October 28^th at St. Stanislaus Church, 17 Pulaski Highway, Pine Island, NY 10969.

Cremation burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Pine Island, NY, immediately following the mass.
